Proven Designs Incorporated, (PDI) introduces the new Servo Stand-Up Pouch Machine. The design capabilities focus on the production of reclosable stand-up pouches utilizing a single web construction. Additionally, traditional two side and three side seal pouches with or without a reclosable feature can be produced.
The new Servo Stand-Up Pouch machine features servo actuated sealing which reduces the number of air cylinders. This reduction of air actuated systems reduces noise, but more importantly it reduces the cost associated with air cylinder maintenance. The machine produces pre-formed pouches for packing snack foods, pet foods, potting soil and a variety of lawn and garden items such as seeds and fertilizers.
The Servo Stand-Up Pouch machine utilizes two independent servo systems for seal bar actuation. One system controls the cross sealing of the machine, and the other controls the longitudinal sealing section. This allows the bars to be timed separately, enabling optimization of sealing conditions for a wide variety of films used to produce pouches. The unique, reversing action of the servo system allows for the dwell time, sealing force and even the cycle distance to be adjusted through the touch screen interface. These tool-less adjustments can even be made while the machine is running.
Single web processing reduces both waste and down time due to machine set up. Seal bar enhancements enable high output performance on substrates ranging from low-density polyethylene to heavy gauge laminations.
