Romeoville, Illinois - Fusion AETEK UV Systems, Inc.
announces the availability of the M-Flex UV curing system for new or existing metal decorating presses.
The M-Flex compliments Fusion Aetek's existing range of air and water cooled systems and provides fast
and efficient interdeck and end of press UV curing of lithographic inks and overprint varnishes on flat
metal sheets.
The small cross-section of the M-Flex lamp module allows fitting within tight spaces on existing
conveyors, eliminating the need for press extensions or additional conveyors. The extremely high curing
efficiency of this UV section can reduce the total number of lamps traditionally needed. Press speeds
can be increased, while saving valuable floor space and reducing capital investment for adding or
converting the press to run UV inks and varnishes. Features include compact size, water-cooled shutters,
replaceable reflector liners for optimum performance and quick disconnect utilities for ease of
maintenance and cleaning.
M-Flex lamp modules can be easily moved from one print deck to another if additional curing is needed for
harder to cure colors. Standard systems are available for typical sheet sizes of 30" to 50" for most
metal decorating presses. Where needed, optional strip belt conveyors are available for interdeck and
end press coating stations and drop tables are available where pass-through access is required.
Operating a metal decorating press with UV offers many benefits; it eliminates the environmental concerns
of air pollution, print definition is improved, and a high level of scratch and chemical resistance is
achieved. The bake times for varnishes are reduced with consequent savings in gas and electrical costs.
